Let Us Pray
How do you pray? Do you start each day with a prayer before your feet even hit the floor? Do you wait until bedtime and bring your problems to God before you go to sleep? Or do you pray throughout the day?
Prayer is a simple act that can benefit so many people in our life. There is no wrong way to pray. The only time it’s wrong is when we DON”T pray.
Praying is not hard, it’s like talking to someone who we love and who loves us. God loves us more than anyone else loves us. How many friends do you have that would send their child to die for you?
Praying is like talking to a good friend that you tell all of your secrets to, all of your deepest desires, and your fears. You know the one that is always there whenever you need them, that’s God. All you have to do is start:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Good Morning Lord,
It’s me again God,
Help me Lord!
“Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:2
That’s all we have to do is call on him.
What do I say?
ANYTHING! That’s one of the great things about God, he wants to hear about everything!
If you’re a mother, there is nothing more precious than when one of you children say “I love you, Mom.” Don’t you also like to feel appreciated? “Thank you so much for everything you do” makes us feel appreciated.
God wants to hear how much we love him and that we appreciate everything he does for us. The question was once asked at our church “What if you woke up this morning, and all you had, was what you had thanked God for yesterday?”
Well??? What would you have?
If it helps make a list. List those who you want to pray for and list a specific need. List those who, your friends have asked you to pray for and their need. List those who you see post on social media about prayer needs, even if you don’t know the specific needs. List those God have laid on your heart.
You can also list your needs and wishes and heartfelt desires. God wants to listen to them ALL! God loves you and it basically boils down to God wants to hear from you. Anytime, all the time, everyday!
I’ve created a very simple prayer list document, see below, to help you get started. Before long you will be keeping a prayer journal.
Please remember, pray, pray, pray.
God Bless!
